Dr. Power Announces her Retirement

Dear Treasured Clients and Friends,

After 37 years (31 of them at Columbia Vet!) of serving as a veterinarian, it is with many emotions that I am announcing my retirement to the next season of my life, effective March 1, 2019.  And what has made the journey most fun and fulfilling is you -- a wide range of loving pet parents and their amazing dogs and cats, each special in their own way.  Thank you for entrusting me with your pets’ care and for the privilege of being part of your family’s lives.

I will be enjoying my next stage of life with a new granddaughter Penny (the first from my older son Trevor and his wife Jolene, who joins Parker & Avery from my stepson Bryan & his wife Kristen), creating a magical garden retreat on Fox Island, training my pup Ozzie, renewing friendships, traveling, and other adventures to be determined.

If I count since I started at age 16 in high school, I have worked in the veterinary profession for 45 years with an impressive succession of compassionate and caring co-workers who are dedicated to our pet patients.  And be assured that you and your pets will be in wonderful hands with Drs. Wright, Reisen, Gay and the Columbia team as they continue to advocate for your pet’s well-being.

As I depart, I have requested no party or gifts.  What would be most meaningful to me is whomever may be inclined to send a card, to do so with a favorite fun or poignant memory of me and your special pet.  I will not have the opportunity to say goodbye to many of you in person, but do know that each of you holds a special place in my heart and I will look forward to the next time that our paths may cross.

With warmest regard, gratitude and affection,

Dr. Peggy Power
